DIY Photo Cube

A personalised photo cube is a great way to bring Instagram memories to life whilst adding some decorative aesthetics to your home. Here's how to create your own.

Materials You'll Need

6 x 4"x4" printed photos (find your local FUJIFILM photo kiosk here)
Wooden Cube (you can grab offcuts for free at your local Mitre10 or Bunnings)
Sanding paper (optional)
Mod Podge
Sponge brush

Step #1

Make sure your wood has a smooth and even surface (especially if you grabbed an offcut from your local hardware store).  Sand the edges and all six sides.

Step #2

Cut your Instagram prints to size (if necessary, you will find your offcut may not be perfectly even on all sides, so a bit of trimming might be required).

Step #3

Add some Mod Podge to the block surface, place your photo on top and also cover this in the Mod Podge (don't worry about it being bright white, it'll dry clear).

Continue to do this for as many sides as you can (we managed 4 in one go).

Step #4

Let dry for 24 hours and then complete the remaining sides.  Again, let this dry for an additional 24 hours.

Tip: To protect your cube and remove some possible tackiness cover with acrylic sealer.
