The new Fujifilm FinePix F100fd is an accomplished, top of the range compact offering some of the most advanced and sophisticated digital camera technology available.
Fujifilm Senior Category Manager – Consumer & Professional Products, Matt Dole, said the FinePix F100fd is a slim camera that fits neatly into the palm of your hand.
“It combines a 12-megapixel 8th Generation Super CCD and Real Photo Processor III technology, complete with a 28mm wide angle and powerful Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens,” Mr Dole said.
“Ideal for serious enthusiasts who demand ultimate performance, the FinePix F100fd incorporates Wide Dynamic Range to produce photos with more shadow and highlight detail, as well as Dual Image Stabilisation for anti-blur protection plus clear, sharp photos.
“Fujifilm’s proprietary Face Detection 3.0 Technology - which can detect up to 10 human faces in just .036 seconds – can now also identify faces at any angle in a 360-degree range regardless of whether the faces are profiled, tilted or upside down.
“Once the shot has been captured, the camera instantly corrects red-eye in just 0.1 second and then saves both the original and corrected image file automatically.
“The FinePix F100fd boasts settings up to ISO3200 at full resolution and an impressive ultra-high ISO12800 sensitivity at 3-megapixels or lower. This higher sensitivity enables the capture of non-flash photos in extremely low-light and the ability to freeze action with fast shutter speeds.”
“The Portrait Enhancer Mode - which mimics a professional photo studio setting by using Face Detection and preset camera settings - has the ability to minimise fine lines and small skin blemishes for smooth, natural looking portraits,” he said.
“The Micro Thumbnail playback feature displays up to 100 photos at a time to simplify picture retrieval which is ideal for viewing an index-style print on the LCD.
“The High Speed playback function also allows the display of full resolution photos on the LCD at a speed of 10 frames per second.”
Mr Dole said other features include 16 pre-programmed scenes, incorporating an underwater scene mode for use with the optional underwater casing, as a well as a blog mode that automatically reduces the size of copied images for easy posting to a blog, web page or email attachment.
“Dual Shot Mode quickly shoots two images in rapid succession - one with flash and one without – and saves them both enabling a comparison of shots.
“The FinePix F100fd also features infrared communication via IrSimple™ technology for fast, easy wireless image transfer to a compatible device,” Mr Dole said.
Other FinePix F100fd features include VGA movie with sound at 30fps, an xD/SD/SDHC compatible media slot, and 2.7” LCD screen that makes it easy to compose photos and confirm results in playback.
Accessories include a Rechargeable Battery NP-50; Battery Charger BC-50; USB and A/V cables; FinePix Viewer CD-Rom and Owner’s manual.
The Fujifilm FinePix F100fd has a recommended retail price of $499 including GST.
