Stand 1608, PrintEx 07, Sydney, Australia. (24th May, 2007) – Fujifilm Australia will be demonstrating the latest version of its Celebrant Suite workflow product at PrintEx 07. Celebrant Suite R6.1 contains a number of new features and enhancements focusing on Web Approval, extended JDF capabilities and improving integrated proofing quality. Celebrant Web Approval is a new addition to the Celebrant Suite workflow product. It provides a collaborative online approval system that will replace traditional approval techniques such as couriered proofs or emailing PDF files and will ultimately reduce the costs and bottlenecks associated with these. Jobs can be approved by clients wherever an Internet connection is available by simply logging into the Web approval sever to view the jobs. Notification that pages require approval is available via email and SMS, allowing anyone involved in the approval process to be alerted while away from their desks or office. Other JDF capabilities offered with Release 6.1 include support for a number of MIS systems which allows customers to initiate jobs directly from an MIS system. Customers then receive up to date JMF status messages allowing them to track job progress and material usage, which helps manage production efficiency and costs. Other new JDF functionality includes JDF Print Distribution, which enables complete JDF jobs to be sent to designated print sites from a central prepress location.
The remote print sites can host a Fujfilm CTP device and shooter RIP that can be automatically configured for CTP plate output by the information contained in the JDF job. This allows prepress skills and more complex tasks such as imposition to be managed at one central location and reduces the skills required at the remote print site, minimising overheads and cost.
